About me
Myfanwy Austin - Speech Pathologist
I hold a Masters of Speech Pathology and a Bachelor of Nursing with post graduate qualifications in Child and Family Health Nursing and certification in the treatment of functional voice disorders from the Dr Liang Voice Program. I am also certified in Oromyofunctional therapy, Sounds-Write Linguistic Phonics, Peers Social Skills program and the More Than Words Hanen Program.
I have a wide range of clinical experience in both nursing and speech therapy. I have worked with children and adults in areas of speech, language and social communication, as well voice, oromyofunctional and literacy difficulties.
I greatly enjoy getting to know my clients, helping you to set goals and working together to get you to where you want to be.

At Vox, we offer services to self and plan managed NDIS clients, privately funded clients, and clients with private health insurance or a Medicare care plan.

How we work
Initial assessment sessions
During initial assessment we work with you to provide an assessment that addresses your goals and needs, discuss therapy options and set goals together.
Ongoing therapy sessions
We offer weekly, fortnightly or ad hoc sessions depending on your needs. Our sessions focus on empowering and encouraging you to work towards your communication goals.
School / daycare visits
We offer sessions in schools and daycare on the north side of Canberra. These visits incur a cost for travel as outlined in our fees.
Social skills group therapy
We offer small social skills groups for children and young adults. Our groups use an evidence based, neurodiversity affirming approach to build skills and confidence interacting with your peers in a fun and relaxed environment.

Policies
Our prices are set in line with NDIS requirements and are subject to change.
Consistent with NDIS policy, appointment cancellations within 2 days of the appointment will be charged at 100% of the session fee.
Clients with multiple unpaid invoices may have future appointments paused until invoices are paid.
In order to provide effective services, clients who have three unexplained absences in a row may have future appointments placed on hold.
